Vitech Corporation continues to evolve a modeling language for systems architecture. The latest version is called Comprehensive Systems Design Language (CSDL). The hallmarks of this precise and natural engineering language include assured consistency of diagrams and the underlying data model and extensive model validation checkers.
FigDesign was asked to develop a visual brand for the language. The logos of many programming languages are based on a three dimensional cube or hexagonal shape. For CSDL, an array of arrows was structured within a hexagon, creating both outgoing positive color arrows and incoming arrows formed by the negative space between them.
Custom letterforms were drawn for C, S, D and L, and horizontal and vertical arrangements of the logo provide flexibility for different applications. The color system is effective on both light and dark backgrounds.
